After I earned my MBA (during the Pandemic), I decided to treat myself to a trip to Brazil.

During the Spanish Inquisition my family fled Portugal to Brazil and married / created offspring with Indigenous Amazonians, so that’s why I don’t understand why I need to pay for Amazon Prime. I AM Amazon Prime. How ironic for Portuguese Jews to flee here and a few centuries later for the Nazis to flee here after killing our Ashkenazi cousins and Sephardic cousins (who fled to Eastern Europe during the Spanish Inquisition) then marry/ breed with Portuguese Jews. Irony is rich.

In order to avoid tourist traps I ended up taking a train to the favelas as the sun was setting. The really kind conductor explained to me that if I’m not from there I shouldn’t go there at night, so I ended up going back to my hotel and to bed then running through the Amazon. I was really fortunate some of the Brazilians were watching out for me as I ran through the Amazon because I kinda got lost for a bit.
