My family was kicked out of this country in the 15th century. I cried when I got to the beach because it was so pretty, then I got sunburned. I cannot believe they kicked us out for being Jews, super antisemitic. I’m really upset- I barely found out about giant Capri Suns. The Burger King had a ton of vegetarian options and honestly I felt like I was back at home. Sephardic Jews have a huge diaspora, we’re literally hidden everywhere. The Spanish inquisition lasted over 500 years; we had our businesses and property stolen then we were burned at the stake. 🪬 I am hoping to return to the cities my family is from and ask them, “but what did I do though?” JK I already read the history on my family and ya know, not our fault, everyone was tripping on us and started the problem like who snitches on people for being clean/ bathed? They didn’t have phones or e-mail so they physically had to go to the church to tell on us for being too clean on a Friday. No, my family didn’t clip coins. We made strategic business moves with the Muslims, the king didn’t like so he kicked us all out. Yea, I’m not over the Spanish Inquisition. I didn’t know being too good at business and networking was a crime.
