I bought this really cute Bavarian dress from a thrift shop. I am actually part Bavarian, so I decided to wear it during Oktoberfest. I was initially terrified of coming here, because I have a Russian name and I wasn’t sure if there was still ongoing Russophobia due to WW2. Everyone was really polite and well mannered, very nice people. I got to meet the Police , which was interesting because I read about them in books and heard stories, but they were polite. One even said, “hola” to me. The Turkish women advised me not to ask if they were strippers. I hope there is peace between Turkey and Armenia and the lie some people are social engineering stops, there is a belief that the Sefardic Jews (who fled to Turkey during the Spanish Inquisition) started the war.

I lost 10 euro at the cigarette machine and kvetched to a man changing another cigarette machine who told me they require an ATM card to verify age. I looked this adult man in the face and said, “no I’m an adult , I’m almost 40, I’m not a teenager” his reaction was such a look I hadn’t ever seen and he then explained for a second time that he understands I’m an adult but the machine doesn’t without a bank card to verify age.
I had more pictures but they got deleted with my Instagram. I’ll probably end up returning and taking more pics. I went to multiple Holocaust museums and sites. I was so happy because they had some Sefardic art and artifacts.
I learned first responders in Germany & Austria are mostly volunteers and they do it for altruistic reasons. They risk their life to help others without pay. I had to ask about 20 people because it was such a hard concept to grasp, but beautiful country. I hope for more continued peace. I took the buses & trains at night and felt safe. Both countries were very clean.

Thr architecture alone made the walks so much fun. I must have walked for hours daily.
